Health Care

Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS), Kathmandu District Chapter has been providing health services to the targeted people through promoting hygiene and sanitation, and generating awareness on immunization, nutrition, infectious diseases and First Aid skills etc. Similarly, NRCS, Kathmandu DC has also been providing ambulance service, HIV and AIDS prevention, care and support services, blood collection programs and Acupunture service. NRCS, Kathmandu DC has been applying community based approach in implementing health and care activities like First Aid (FA), Water and Sanitation, Community Development Program, Primary Health Care.

Blood Transfusion is solely mandated to Nepal Red Cross Society by the Government of Nepal. Thus, NRCS Kathmandu DC has also been organizing blood donation programs but District Chapter has not established Blood Transfusion Service Center in the District as NRCS Central Blood Transfusion Service (CBTS) is already present in the district.

NRCS Kathmandu DC has started to provide the First Aid service by its inception and the service has been systematized through trained human resource produced by Community Based First Aid (CBFA) 1997, Emergency First Aid (EFA) 2001 and First Aid Standardization (FATS) 2003, carried by NRCS, National Headquarter.
