About Us

Nepal Red Cross Society Kathmandu District Chapter was established on 2 January 1969.

Nepal Red Cross Society Kathmandu District Headquarters is located in its own building at 590   Bagbazar Sadak, Kathmandu Municipality.

We are actively involved in supporting the Nepal Red Cross Society in its stated objective of   alleviating or reducing human suffering without discrimination on grounds of religion, race, sex, class, caste, tribe, nationality or political affiliation at the district level. In coordination with the national network spread in all the 75 districts of the kingdom, we are engaged in mobilizing volunteers through active community participation at all levels.

As part of our regular services, we run health camps during festivals and special occasions, and blood donation drives in different parts of the District from time to time.

In times of natural disasters such as floods, earthquake and fire we provide emergency relief services for disaster victims, while during normal times we work towards raising public awareness in disaster preparedness and towards reducing disasters.

In times of conflict, we serve victims of armed conflict without discrimination, including tracing of separated family members, while at all other times we contribute in promoting and improving health conditions and preventing diseases.
